Pending Federal Bill: Pedestrian Protection Act

The Pedestrian Protection Act is a Federal bill introduced by Representative Scanlon along with Mr. Thompson and Ms. Friedman. The bill would require the Secretary of Transportation to establish vehicle safety and minimum driver visibility standards, considering design features like hoods, bumpers, height, and weight, to reduce collisions, injuries, and fatalities involving pedestrians, bicyclists, and other vulnerable road users.
