Park It Act

 

The PARK IT Act (S. 1437/HR 3145) was a federal bill that would require an auto-shut-off feature in all new vehicles with a keyless ignition. Language from The PARK IT Act was passed as a part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). 

The provision directs the U.S. DOT to issue a final rule within two years to mandate an automatic shutoff for vehicles with keyless ignition and combustion engines. The U.S. DOT is further directed to conduct a study on vehicle rollaways related to keyless ignition vehicles.
