Charlie’s House is proud to offer this program to raise awareness, and provide education and resources to prevent injuries and deaths to children in vehicles. Risks addressed through the program include frontovers and backovers, hot car dangers, car entrapment and submersion, and vehicle fires.

Every week at least 110 children are injured or killed after being run over in parking lots and driveways. These are not only predictable, but they are also preventable tragedies that are happening most frequently to very young children under age 5. Every vehicle has a blind zone behind, on the side, and in front of the vehicle where the driver cannot see a small child.

Hot Car Dangers
According to Kids and Car Safety, over 1,000 children have died in hot cars nationwide since 1990. Even the best of parents or caregivers can unknowingly leave a sleeping baby in a car, and the end result can be injury or even death.
